Qatari royal family members dispute the valuation of a 70-carat diamond, "Idol's Eye," worth millions.

Two branches of Qatar's royal family are in a legal battle over a 70-carat diamond called the "Idol's Eye" worth millions of dollars. Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani is trying to enforce his right to buy the diamond from relatives of former culture minister Sheikh Saud bin Mohammed Al Thani. The dispute centers on the diamond's valuation, with QIPCO, led by Sheikh Hamad, claiming a $10 million price based on a 2020 letter, while Elanus Holdings disputes the letter and values the diamond at around $27 million.
