New Jersey group urges state to review costs of $110 billion offshore wind project.

A New Jersey citizens group, Save Long Beach Island (Save LBI), is urging the state Board of Public Utilities (BPU) to conduct a thorough cost-benefit analysis of the Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind South project, which plans to install 200 wind turbines off the southern coast. Save LBI warns that the project could cost New Jerseyans $110 billion over its lifespan, nearly double the state's 2025 budget. The group claims that previous analyses have omitted certain costs and seeks a final determination from the BPU by December.
