Italian police have dismantled a major European forgery network that produced and sold counterfeit artworks by famous artists like Banksy, Picasso, and Warhol. Over 2,100 fake pieces, valued at around €200 million, were seized. The operation involved the arrest of 38 people across Italy, Spain, France, and Belgium, who are under investigation for charges including forgery and illegal art sales. The investigation, initiated in 2023, uncovered six forgery workshops.
