Indian stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty, closed flat on Monday with marginal gains, impacted by continuous foreign institutional investor selling, disappointing quarterly earnings, and weak Asian markets. Sensex rose 9.83 points to 79,496.15, and Nifty dipped 6.90 points to 24,141.30. Foreign Institutional Investors offloaded equities worth Rs 3,404.04 crore on Friday. Notable losers included Asian Paints and Tata Steel, while IT stocks like Infosys and HCL Technologies were among the gainers.
