Hospital managers doubted doctors' warnings about nurse Lucy Letby, who was later convicted of killing seven infants.

A public inquiry revealed that senior managers at the Countess of Chester Hospital were skeptical of doctors' concerns about nurse Lucy Letby potentially harming babies in 2015 and 2016. Instead of involving the police, the hospital commissioned internal reviews. Letby was convicted of murdering seven infants and attempting to harm seven others, serving 15 whole-life orders. The inquiry is expected to conclude by early 2025.
