Fast-moving Callahan Fire near Reno forces evacuations, closes highway, affects 3,000 residents.

A fast-moving brush fire near Callahan Road in south Reno, called the Callahan Fire, has caused evacuations and closed Mt. Rose Highway. The fire, exacerbated by high winds, has burned around 100 acres, affecting 3,000 residents, and resulted in unhealthy air quality. Governor Joe Lombardo urged residents to follow evacuation warnings and limit outdoor activities. Evacuation centers have been set up at the South Valleys Library.
