EchoStar Corporation reported a bigger-than-expected loss in the third quarter of 2024, with earnings down to -$0.52 per share and revenue falling 5.3% to $3.89 billion. Despite a decline in overall revenue and subscribers, the company added 145,000 Sling TV subscribers and secured a deal to sell its pay-TV business to DIRECTV. EchoStar also completed transactions to improve its balance sheet and fund its 5G network expansion. The company's stock price dropped by 3.46% following the report.
