Dubai's first hydroelectric power plant in Hatta is nearly complete, set to boost renewable energy use.

Dubai's hydroelectric power plant in Hatta, expected to be completed by mid-2025, is nearly finished at 94.15%. This first-of-its-kind plant in the Arabian Gulf will have a capacity of 250 megawatts and storage of 1,500 megawatt-hours, with an 80-year lifespan. It uses water stored in an upper dam to generate electricity and is part of Dubai's plan to use more renewable energy sources.
