Despite the rise of digital payments, young adults aged 18-24 in Ireland are the biggest users of cash, with 35% using it daily. The An Post survey, conducted by Empathy, shows that 28% of all adults use cash daily, and 80% always carry it for emergencies. Cash is preferred for groceries, small purchases, gifting, and tipping. Many also believe using only cash would help them track spending better.
