Czech power firm CEZ reports $984M profit, down 27.3%, plans new nuclear reactors despite decline.

Czech power company CEZ reported a net profit of $984 million in the first three quarters of 2024, showing a 27.3% decline from the same period last year due to lower trading and mining profits. Despite this, CEZ plans to build two new nuclear reactors with Britain's Rolls-Royce SMR and expects full-year profits between $1.1 billion and $1.3 billion. The Czech state owns nearly 70% of the company.
