South Korea saw a 12.4% rise in jobless claims in October, with 89,000 new applicants, due to increased demand in construction, wholesale and retail, and manufacturing. This follows a three-month improvement in the employment market. The total payment for job-seeking benefits grew by 9.9% to 1 trillion won (715.6 million USD), and the number of benefit receivers reached 587,000, up 3.7% from last year.
