Six children died in a jumping castle accident; owner Rosemary Gamble is accused of improper anchoring.

In the ongoing criminal case over the Hillcrest Primary School jumping castle tragedy, where six children died and three were injured in 2021, owner Rosemary Anne Gamble is accused of not properly securing the castle. A geotechnical engineer testified that Australian safety standards lack guidelines on anchoring and soil evaluation. Prosecutors argue Gamble used only four anchors instead of eight, while her defense claims she took all reasonable steps. The case continues in Devonport Magistrates Court.
