Russian forces advance on Ukrainian city Kurakhove, where residents endure without basic services.

Russian forces are closing in on Kurakhove, a Ukrainian city in the eastern Donbas region, with residents still living in basements without water, heat, or electricity. The city’s infrastructure, including hospitals and schools, has been destroyed. Despite the danger, local authorities and police remain, with a volunteer group called the "White Angels" risking their lives to evacuate civilians and provide aid. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has described the situation in Kurakhove as "the most challenging."
