A 19-year-old from Letterkenny, John McGinley, pleaded guilty to two violent attacks on strangers. He stabbed a man waiting for a taxi and assaulted a 70-year-old man during an early morning walk. McGinley is already serving a 3½-year sentence for a previous knife attack. He has a history of drug use since age 11 and faces psychiatric issues. The court will finalize his sentencing in February 2025.
