India allocates $89 million to modernize fire services in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and West Bengal.

The Union Home Minister Amit Shah's committee has approved Rs 725.62 crore for modernizing fire services in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and West Bengal. This is part of a Rs 5,000 crore initiative under the National Disaster Response Fund to enhance fire services nationwide. The projects aim to set up new fire stations, provide modern equipment, and improve disaster management. Over Rs 21,026 crore has been distributed this year for various disaster response measures.
