Hitachi launches OSPO to lead global open-source software use, aiming to boost innovation and solve social issues.

Hitachi has set up the Open Source Program Office (OSPO) to lead the use of open-source software (OSS) globally within the company. The OSPO will work on surveying advanced OSS, planning its utilization, managing compliance with OSS licenses, training engineers, and promoting OSS use. Initially, the team will consist of 60 members, expected to grow to 100. Hitachi aims to solve social issues and accelerate digital transformation for customers through open innovation with other companies and government agencies.
