Bhutan, known for its Gross National Happiness index, plans to build a "mindfulness city" named Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) to boost the economy and create jobs. Set to launch on November 11 with a $100 million bond issue, the project will cover 2,500 square kilometers and promote green living, mindfulness, and tourism. The city, aiming to connect South and Southeast Asia, will include spaces for businesses, education, and health, and is projected to attract one million residents eventually.
