Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region faces severe air pollution, with PM2.5 levels spiking in 10 cities.

A southern wind has protected the south of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region from air pollution affecting central areas since Thursday, due to weak wind, high humidity, and temperature inversion. By Saturday, 10 cities in the region showed high PM2.5 levels, with Shijiazhuang recording 150 micrograms per cubic meter. Contributing factors include early thermal heating, plant operations, and increased truck movement. As cold fronts move in, pollution is expected to shift south and ease by Sunday.
