Bangladeshi filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki appointed Cultural Advisor amid political unrest.

Bangladeshi filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki has been appointed Cultural Advisor to the country's interim government, led by Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus. The appointment comes as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left the country due to large protests. Farooki will head the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and oversee the Shilpokola Academy. Two other advisers were also appointed: Sheikh Bashir Uddin for commerce and textiles, and Mahfuj Alam as a special assistant.
