Australia sees record battery storage investment, reaching 3.9 GWh in Q3 2024.

Australia hit a record in the third quarter of 2024 with a 95% increase in battery storage investment, reaching 3.9 GWh. The Clean Energy Council reported over AUD 1.2 billion was committed to storage projects, alongside AUD 3.3 billion for 10 large-scale solar and wind projects. Energy Vault signed a $350 million deal for a 1,000 MWh battery storage system in New South Wales. The country now sources over 40% of its electricity from renewables, aiming for nearly 50% by 2025 and 82% by 2030.
