Anti-vaxxer Patrick Ruane sentenced to five years for inciting terrorism via social media.

Patrick Ruane, a 55-year-old anti-vaxxer from London, was sentenced to five years in prison for encouraging terrorism. Ruane used Telegram to post messages that advocated violence against officials involved in the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, including England's Chief Medical Officer, Sir Chris Whitty. His posts, which reached 26,000 followers, included calls for the creation of a “kill squad” and the use of weapons and explosives. Despite claiming he was drunk during the period, Ruane was found guilty at the Old Bailey.
