Women's Aid report highlights need for better training and screening of domestic abuse in pregnant women.

Women's Aid launched an evaluation report for its pilot maternity project, aimed at raising awareness of coercive control among maternity staff to better support pregnant victims of domestic abuse. The project, involving four Irish hospitals, trained nearly 350 staff and found that pregnant women often fear seeking help due to shame and fear of child removal. The report recommends regular screening for domestic abuse during pregnancy and highlights the need to improve data tracking in hospitals.
