A tractor-trailer carrying frozen food caught fire on I-295 in Northeast D.C. on November 9 around 10 a.m., causing significant black smoke. D.C. Fire and EMS extinguished the fire, but the trailer continued to smolder. Hazmat crews prevented diesel runoff from entering sewers. The fire led to the road's closure between Eastern Avenue and Burroughs Avenue, with no reported injuries.
