Thousands of fans gathered at Cincinnati's Great American Ball Park for a 14-hour visitation to honor Pete Rose, baseball's career hits leader, who passed away on September 30 at age 83. Despite his 1989 ban from MLB for gambling, Rose was celebrated for his 4,256 hits and key role in the Reds' World Series victories. The Reds plan to honor Rose on "Pete Rose Day" on May 14, with a first pitch at 7:14 pm, a nod to his jersey number 14.
