New Zealand allocates $20.3M to upgrade historic sites Rātana Pā and Waitangi Treaty Grounds.
The New Zealand government has allocated $20.3 million to upgrade two significant sites, Rātana Pā near Whanganui and the Waitangi Treaty Grounds in Northland. These sites are crucial for both Māori and non-Māori New Zealanders, hosting major annual events. The funding aims to preserve history and improve safety for the thousands of visitors each year. In September, the government also provided $5.8 million to enhance water infrastructure at Parihaka in Taranaki.
