NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, set for a 2027 launch, integrates a device to detect faint exoplanets.

NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, launching in May 2027, has integrated a key component, the Roman Coronagraph Instrument, designed to block starlight and detect faint exoplanets. With a field of view 100 times larger than Hubble, it will study dark energy and exoplanets. The coronagraph, about the size of a baby grand piano, can detect planets 100 million times fainter than their stars.
