Mark Cavendish, the 39-year-old British cycling legend, announced his retirement from professional cycling on Saturday. His final race will be the Tour de France Singapore Criterium on Sunday. Cavendish, known for his 35 stage wins in the Tour de France and 165 career victories, has had a successful career since 2005. He also won the world road race championship in 2011 and a silver medal in the 2016 Olympics.
