Malaysia's Education Ministry plans to introduce a new health education module in 2027 to address rising teenage pregnancies. The Reproductive and Social Health Education (PEERS) module, approved by the Women, Family, and Community Development Ministry, aims to equip students with knowledge about reproductive health and sexuality. The initiative comes amid growing concerns over teenage pregnancies, underage marriages, and unsafe abortions, with 44,263 teenage pregnancies reported over the past five years.
