Malawi alerts public to measles outbreak, launches mass vaccination campaign in capital.

Authorities in Lilongwe, Malawi's capital, have alerted the public to a measles outbreak affecting nearly 20 locations since October, with 21 confirmed cases. The disease, highly infectious and potentially fatal, especially in children, has prompted a mass vaccination campaign targeting children aged 9 months to 15 years in affected areas, schools, and community centers. Malawi previously faced a severe outbreak in 2010, with over 134,000 cases and 304 deaths.
