Eating two ounces of pistachios daily may improve older adults' eye health, study suggests.

A study from Tufts University indicates that eating about two ounces of pistachios daily could improve eye health in older adults. Pistachios are rich in lutein, which boosts macular pigment density, protecting the eyes from harmful blue light and potentially reducing the risk of age-related macular degeneration, a leading cause of blindness in older adults. The study monitored 36 participants aged 40-70, finding significant improvements in those who consumed pistachios for 12 weeks.
