A CRPF constable, Shailendra Rajput, was arrested in Gujarat for kidnapping and murdering his 8-year-old neighbor, Shubham Rajpal, to collect a ransom of Rs 5 lakh to repay debts from stock market losses. Rajput, while on leave, lured Shubham to his house, taped his mouth, leading to the child's death. He attempted to avoid suspicion by pretending to help in the search.
