Professor Muhammad Yunus has pledged full support to a commission investigating enforced disappearances in Bangladesh, which occurred between 2009 and 2024. The commission, headed by retired High Court Judge Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury, has received over 1,600 complaints, with an estimated 3,500 cases suspected. The government has agreed to extend the commission's tenure and consider legal measures to protect victims. The commission also seeks to impose travel bans on accused individuals once their identities are confirmed.
