Lotus to cut up to 200 jobs amid declining demand for high-performance electric vehicles.

Lotus, the British sports car manufacturer, will cut up to 200 jobs due to decreased market demand and aims to streamline operations. This follows earlier layoffs in January and July 2023. Despite recent sales growth, interest in high-performance electric vehicles is declining, prompting the need for restructuring. The company will continue producing its Evija supercar and plans to launch the Type 135 electric sports car by 2027.
