Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani urged US President-elect Donald Trump to fulfill his campaign promise to end wars in the Middle East during a phone call. Both leaders agreed to coordinate efforts toward this goal. The US and Iraq announced plans to conclude the international coalition's military mission in Iraq within a year and by September 2026 in Kurdistan, though it remains unclear if any American troops will stay in Iraq.
