Guyana and CARICOM advocate for a Second International Decade for People of African Descent.

Guyana and CARICOM have called for a Second International Decade for People of African Descent, emphasizing the need to address the ongoing impacts of slavery and colonialism. This appeal was made by Minister Oneidge Walrond during a New York event marking the end of the first Decade, which began in 2014 to raise awareness of the contributions and challenges faced by people of African descent.
