DBS Group is exploring a $460M stake in Alliance Bank Malaysia and other acquisitions to enter Malaysia.

DBS Group Holdings, Singapore's largest bank, is considering expanding into Malaysia by acquiring stakes in local banks. This includes a potential $460 million stake in Alliance Bank Malaysia, owned by Temasek, and over $500 million in Kuwait Finance House's Malaysian retail banking assets. These plans are in early stages and would need approval from Malaysia's central bank, as DBS currently lacks a retail banking presence there.
