Turkish security forces reported the neutralization of 16 Kurdish militants in northern Iraq and Syria, targeting 10 members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and six from the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG). The PKK, considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and the EU, has been in conflict with Turkey for over 30 years. President Erdogan affirmed Turkey's commitment to combatting PKK militants in these regions.
