A pilot project by Women's Aid and four Dublin hospitals aims to improve support for pregnant women facing domestic abuse. Despite training nearly 350 maternity staff, many women remain silent due to fear of losing their children and shame. An evaluation revealed that regular screening for abuse is favored by most women, but inadequate record-keeping and IT issues hinder effective support. The project has helped 379 victims and calls for expanded replication with proper funding.
