On November 4, the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) rescued two young sand miners in Calabar after their boat capsized amid rough tidal waves. NIWA, conducting a routine patrol, received a distress call and quickly dispatched a team. The miners, aged 23 to 25, were found nearly drowning, but the team revived them and safely returned them to their families. The boat and its contents were fully submerged during the incident.
