The National Trust for Scotland is restoring the historic Bachelors’ Club linked to Robert Burns.

The National Trust for Scotland has initiated a £330,000 restoration of the Bachelors’ Club in Tarbolton, linked to poet Robert Burns. This Grade A-listed 17th-century building will undergo re-thatching by Yorkshire thatchers, using reeds from a Tayside reserve. The eight-week first phase focuses on the roof, while a second phase in early 2025 will address external and internal finishes. Funding comes from the Historic Environment Scotland Partnership Fund, with a £130,000 donation appeal underway.
