A memorial for WWI hero Private James Miller has received Grade II status in Withnell, Lancashire.

A memorial honoring Private James Miller, a World War I soldier who displayed exceptional bravery during the Battle of the Somme, has been granted Grade II status in Withnell, Lancashire. Miller, awarded the Victoria Cross posthumously, was shot while delivering a critical message to his comrades, ultimately saving their lives. The two-meter tall Celtic wheelhead cross, made of white Cornish granite, was erected in 1917 through public donations.
