Extinction Rebellion (XR) activists protested at the Scottish Parliament by locking themselves to the building with bicycle D-locks, opposing a proposed gas-fired power station in Peterhead. They claim carbon capture technology, part of the project, is a "scam" that enables fossil fuel companies to continue operations under the guise of being environmentally responsible. The protest occurred before First Minister's Questions, with police stating access to the building was unaffected.
