Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson has called for schools to prioritize student wellbeing and inclusivity over solely focusing on exam results. Speaking at the Confederation of School Trusts conference, she emphasized the need for students, especially those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), to feel a sense of belonging. The government plans to improve inclusivity in mainstream education and has appointed Dame Christine Lenehan as a strategic adviser on SEND.
