Democrat Nellie Pou wins New Jersey's 9th Congressional District, succeeding Bill Pascrell Jr.

Democrat Nellie Pou has won the U.S. House seat for New Jersey's 9th Congressional District, succeeding the late Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. Pou, the first Latina to represent New Jersey in Congress, secured 50.6% of the vote against Republican Billy Prempeh, who garnered 46%. A seasoned legislator, Pou previously served in the New Jersey Assembly and Senate. The Associated Press announced her victory on Wednesday.
