Nigeria lowers the admission age for tertiary institutions from 18 to 16 to boost student enrollment.

Nigeria's Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has reversed the admission age limit for tertiary institutions from 18 to 16 years, allowing younger students to apply. This change, announced in Abuja, aims to reduce the number of out-of-school children and includes exceptions for gifted students. Alausa also confirmed the ongoing ban on degrees from "fake" universities in Togo and Benin Republic, and plans to focus on practical education to address unemployment.
