The Indian Army has inducted 550 'Asmi' machine pistols into its Northern Command, enhancing its capabilities for close-quarter battles. Developed by Colonel Prasad Bansod in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation, these 100% Indian-made weapons are produced by Lokesh Machines in Hyderabad. Their semi-bullpup design allows for single-handed operation, reflecting India's commitment to self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
