Japan's traditional sake brewing techniques have received a recommendation for inclusion in UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list. This proposal, which highlights the craftsmanship involved in fermenting rice using koji mold, is set for formal adoption during a meeting in Paraguay from December 2 to 7. If approved, it will become Japan's 23rd entry, emphasizing the cultural significance of sake in rituals and festivals.
