Japanese startup Tenchijin, Inc. has launched a cloud-based mapping service, Tenchijin COMPASS KnoWaterleak, to enhance leak detection in water systems using satellite data and AI. Launched in 2023, it has been adopted by over 20 municipalities in Japan, including Tokyo, and aims to expand into Southeast Asia from its new office in Malaysia. The service could cut inspection costs by up to 65% and survey time by up to 85%, addressing issues related to aging infrastructure.
