Former officer Benjamin Pearson was found guilty of gross misconduct for sending explicit messages to a vulnerable woman.

Former Derbyshire Constabulary officer Benjamin Pearson was found to have committed gross misconduct by sending sexually explicit messages to a vulnerable woman he met while on duty in September 2022. He exchanged over 2,700 messages with her and accessed confidential information about her and her family. Pearson violated police conduct standards and has been barred from future employment with the police. The case was referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
