Calgary launched a new police community counter to improve public safety amid rising crime.

Calgary has opened a new police community counter at 119 Sixth Ave. S.W. This centralized safety hub, operational from November 12, allows the public to report non-emergency matters and offers a space for officers to manage paperwork. The hub costs $250,000 annually. Mayor Jyoti Gondek noted Calgary lacks a downtown police station, and the hub aims to enhance public safety amid rising crime concerns.
